Corporal rotation for the treatment of congenital penile curvature using the Shaeer technique: case report

Introduction: Ventral congenital penile curvature is a rare condition that can result in significant deformities and functional limitations. This curvature may be caused by a defect of the corpus spongiosum, the presence of urethral plaques, tethering of Buck’s or dartos fascia, or a defect in the tunica albuginea of one of the corpora cavernosa. Clinical case: 21-year-old male with inability to perform sexual intercourse due to a 60° congenital ventral penile curvature. With an initial penile length of 16 cm, surgical correction was performed using transverse plication sutures of the tunica albuginea. Maximal erection was induced with saline infusion and a tourniquet to allow proper suture tension adjustment, achieving complete straightening. Conclusions: Penile straightening with the Shaeer technique was nearly complete, resulting in a residual curvature of 10°, a penile length loss of 1.5 cm, and no residual asymmetries.
