Summary

Introduction: Adrenal tumors have an incidence of 0.6-1.5%. Aldosterone-producing adenoma is a tumor originating in the adrenal cortex and often causing hypertension, hypokalemia, and muscle weakness. It can be approached surgically via open or laparoscopic methods. Clinical case: This case involves a 43-year-old male with elevated blood pressure and muscle weakness, along with severe hypokalemia and elevated serum aldosterone levels, secondary to a left functioning aldosteronoma identified by contrast-enhanced abdominal computed tomography. The patient underwent a successful laparoscopic left adrenalectomy, with satisfactory postoperative results and improvement in hypokalemia, muscle weakness, and hypertension. Conclusion: Laparoscopic adrenalectomy is the treatment of choice due to its low complication rate and rapid postoperative recovery.
